When the Google Adwords program came along, that was even better. I could setup an ad campaign and send good quality targeted traffic to my sites for pennies a click. And I mean pennies; looking back at my campaigns, the typical click though was less than 25¢. The same traffic that I'm paying almost $2.00 a click for today!
SEO & Optimization... What is that?
Something had to give, so a few years ago I started looking at this "Search Engine Optimization" concept. So I bought every get rich SEO book that just about every Guru was producing.
I tried:
- Automated web site generation programs (TE and Article Generator)
- Search engine submission programs
- Search engine spamming
- Automated link programs
- Reciprocal link membership sites
- Site wide linking schemes using paid links
- Automated blog and ping programs
- Spamming social link sites
- Hidden pages with redirect links
- Email promotions both spam and double opt in
- Co-Registration programs
- and.. several others I don't want to publicly admit to :-)
Boy, was that a mistake.
It seems the only thing these Guru's really do well is sell junk to people like me who want to make money online. It seemed that many of these guys made a million dollars, but it was in the past. The reason they were selling their secrets now was their ideas no longer work.

I began looking for people who:
- Currently make their living selling products to the retail public.
- Have a proven technique to get listed in Google.
- Are willing to share what they know and what they are doing now.
I found several of these people with a proven track record. Currently, I trust only 3 or 4 people when it comes to search engine optimization and online marketing.
So why trust me?
Good question. Because now I fit the three qualifications above. I currently sell products like CDs, weight loss products, stop smoking products, baby blankets, DVDs and cases, vintage LP albums to collectors and several other products.
Below are the headers for twelve months of merchant statements for my online sales. These statements run from Sept 2007 to August 2008. The confidential (account numbers etc) have been blurred. The total monthly deposits are underlined in red. Average monthly credit card sales is $38,808.82.

I've proven over the years that I can get listed on the first page of Google over and over and over and the results stay there. Sure, I may be #4 this month and #8 next month then back to #2 the next, but I continuously get on the first page of Google. |
Just a couple points...
The bulk of my traffic now comes from Google search, not pay-per-click.
Here's a screen shot from Google Analytics for one domain I have comparing the first 8 months of 2008 with the same period in 2007. The chart is for my top ten key words. The traffic is only from Google. As you can see from the header my total visits increased 96.63% from the previous year. You can also see my top ten key words and how each of them increased.
I've had to blur the actual key word sets, but you can see the green numbers that show the percentage increase over the previous year.
